Adam Pike holds BA, LLB and LLM degrees from the University of Cape Town. His LLM, attained from the School of Advanced Legal Studies at the University of Cape Town, focused on commercial and corporate law, particularly corporate governance and securities. In his master's dissertation he analysed the appraisal remedy in light of fundamental transactions, identifying several problematic issues.
As a member of the Law Society of the Cape of Good Hope, Adam was admitted to the side-bar in 2008. He is also a member of the Institute of Directors (Southern Africa) and the Corporate Lawyers Association of South Africa.
Adam specialises in the implementation of corporate actions and transactions. His experience extends to drafting an assortment of finance agreements in the oil and gas sectors, preparing bid documents in the renewable energy sector and advising developers and sectoral stakeholders venturing into Africa. Adam has had recent successes in corporate litigation involving shareholder activism, which is becoming a growing area of the activities of the firm.
