During our first consultations, we listen to you. We make an effort to understand your concerns, the pressure points that inform the issues in question and the environmental constraints in which your business operates. In short, our job is to translate your commercial issues into legal terms so that we can develop and apply legal solutions to resolve the business challenges you face. The purpose of the preliminary consultations is to develop a plan of action. This will be set out in a transaction note that will serve as a guide for the execution of the instruction. The transaction note is a living document, that is exchanged between us initial stages of the engagement. Our thoughts and your instructions are refined during this process.
Unlike other professional advisors, any information disclosed to an attorney by a client is protected by attorney client privilege. In addition, we are bound by professional and ethical duties of confidentiality. With this in mind, we ask that you trust us and submit all documentation related to the instruction in question. The more we know about your business, the challenges you face and what you hope to achieve, the better placed we are to develop a document, agreement or statement that achieves the desired outcome. We protect your information and documentation.
fees and accounts
We ensure that our fees structure is transparent. We do not charge for postage and petties or "miscellaneous attendances" – what are those anyway? To the contrary, our invoices are detailed and open for debate. In fact, we invite our clients to interrogate our accounts and raise any queries. We believe that this invitation dispels misgivings client may have, avoids the residual resentment and ultimately makes for a healthy relationship between us.
retainers and fixed fee engagements
In order to provide for operational certainty, we are able to offer our services on a retainer basis. We have devised four plans which cater for the varying needs of our clients. Should you be interested in a fixed fee retainer arrangement, you are welcome to contact us. We'd be happy to discuss which plan is best suited to your business.
