Education
Adam holds a BA, LLB and LLM, University of Cape Town.
Adam’s master’s thesis examined the appraisal remedy in section 164 of the Companies Act 71 of 2008. He has written extensively on appraisal rights and related corporate-law questions.
He has also completed professional short courses concerning collective investment schemes and hedge funds.

Adam founded Pike Law in 2013. He specialises in complex corporate transactions, corporate and commercial disputes, statutory shareholder remedies and regulatory matters.
His practice includes affected and fundamental transactions, appraisal rights, shareholder activism, contractual disputes, business rescue and insolvency, public procurement and proceedings before statutory and regulatory bodies. He has appeared before the Takeover Special Committee and has acted in litigation in the Eastern Cape, Gauteng and Western Cape divisions of the High Court.
Adam has particular experience in appraisal litigation and other statutory shareholder remedies. He has represented fund managers, institutional asset managers, private shareholders and corporate clients in matters involving questions of value, control, disclosure and regulatory compliance.
He also advises and represents professionals, academics and institutions in disputes involving internal and regulatory complaint processes, professional discipline, dignity, reputation and institutional governance.
